these tears, they betray me

In the garden of everything I’ve ever lost
Every flower was frozen by a layer of frost
Frozen between then and today
Frozen between what I have said,
And what I wished to say
The frost infused the air with regret
Even I was lost,
buried beneath the sunset
And yet I was standing alive
In the garden of everything I’ve ever lost
An ounce of hope made me survive
Pieces of faces and forgotten names
That were burnt long gone
Scattered like seeds
But now looking at this garden
This heart no longer bleeds
